Having bought the computer divison from IBM a few years ago, Lenovo has continued to improve its products. Their notebooks come with a variety of extra software (see the Lenovo site for details), and excellent construction and materials. So sturdy are their notebooks that when I asked the Lenovo Rep to stand on her Lenovo notebook, she did it right on the spot. (we do not recommend standing on any notebook, not even Lenovo notebooks, just to be on the safe side). I got the same reponse from her collegue in May, but he refused to stand on the X300. Now none of us will ever need to stand on our notebooks, but in the event of an accidental drop or bump, I believe the Lenovo notebooks would fair much better than those from other manufacturers. I think that this is part of the reason IBM/Lenovo products were also the first notebook used on the Space Shuttle missions.
